Social Activities
General Information
Rose of York organises weekly social activities. These social activities might include visits to museums, sightseeing tours, theatre trips, quiz nights, afternoon tea, sports events and much more. Most of the events are free or might incur a small cost of £3-£10, depending on the activity.
A social events organiser, or a teacher, always accompanies the students on the social activity. The coordinator takes pride in ensuring that everyone is involved and having a good time.
At Rose of York we believe that the social activities work alongside our courses. School social events are one of the best ways to practise the English learnt in class while having fun at the same time. We strongly encourage participation as we believe this improves our students’ experience in London.
At Rose of York you will form firm friendships, many of which will continue long after you leave the school.

Weekend Excursions
At the weekends, you can participate in our day trips, which include excursions to:
- areas on the outskirts of London such as Richmond, Hampton court, Greenwich and Kew Gardens
- towns and cities outside London such as Windsor, Brighton and Oxford
- cultural events such as Udderbelly, FutureFest, and tours of London
- London’s famous markets, parks and film locations
Costs vary depending on the destination but in general ranges between £15 and £60.
We also work with a number of companies that organise weekend trips to locations further away. These locations might include Bath, Stonehenge and Stratford-upon-Avon.
These companies offer discounts to our students and we can help you book tickets.

We are permitted to sell discounted tickets to famous tourist attractions such as the Tower of London and Madame Tussaud’s and West End shows such as The Lion King and The Phantom of the Opera.
