Part-Time Courses
At Rose of York Language School, we understand that life can be busy. This is why we offer part-time courses. Therefore, if you work, study, or, have children we have English courses that will fit your schedule.
You’ll find lots of courses available, like General English, Business English, and Exam Preparation. In fact, when you take any of our Part-Time classes you will join our Full-Time students. As a result, part-time students can still meet all the other students attending our school and work with them in class. Students can also have a chat with their teachers to catch up on what the rest of the class covered when they were not there. This means that part-time students can do more studying at home.
Please note that if you need to apply for a student visa, you cannot take any of our Part-Time Courses. This is because you must meet the minimum requirement of 15 hours per week.
Our Part-Time Courses Options
Students can choose to study two, three, or four days per week in the morning or in the afternoon. This depends on the student’s needs and goals. Our Part-Time courses include General English, Business English and Exam Preparation (IELTS or Cambridge Exams).

Students can choose to attend class on the days that are best for them. These days can change according to a student’s schedule, so if your rota at work changes, your classes can change too. However, please note that classes cannot be transferred to another week.
Booster Classes
Booster Classes are specifically designed, intensive classes that focus on a single skill. When taking part-time courses, or any other English class, students’ skills improve at different rates. So, students can devote more time to individual skills that they feel less confident in.
These classes are designed to help you focus on key areas that you think you need to improve. The Booster Classes are personalised and can be very useful, especially for part-time students.
The Booster Classes are: conversation, pronunciation, writing skills, business proficiency and exam skills. You can choose your Booster Classes based on the needs identified by you and your teacher in your part-time course. For example, if you feel like Pronunciation is your weak point, you can add a pronunciation Booster to your Standard Course to help you improve in this area.

By enrolling on one of our Part-Time courses, students will be able to organise their week easily. Also, students can meet new people from around the world. We know that moving to a new city with a different language can be difficult but at Rose of York, you can meet people in similar situations and make friends. Finally, we offer a social programme to all students who are enrolled with us. This offers a great opportunity to explore the city and to get to know our teachers in a more informal environment.
